August TBR

Good morning! Welcome back to A Teen Called Tara, or hello if you’re new 🙂 Today, I’m going to be giving you a rundown of my TBR for the month of August. I got through quite a few books in July, and I’m hoping to continue the reading streak this month too. Let’s get started!

  • Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – if you’ve seen my book review of The Sun is Also a Star, you’ll know I loved Nicola Yoon’s writing style and wanted to read more by her in the future. So here we are! I don’t know much about this book, only that the cover is super pretty and I’m excited to read it!

  • Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone – I received this book a couple of months ago for my birthday and whilst it didn’t draw my attention initially, I’m dying to read it now. It’s about a girl who has OCD, but must keep it a secret from her popular friends. I’m really looking forward to reading from Sam’s POV and this book seems like it has a lot of potential.

  • Carry On by Rainbow Rowell – obviously I’ve already read this one, but I thought I’d reread in preparation for Wayward Son coming out this September! Very excited for the release. Until then, I’ll be reminding myself of the first book and everything I adore about it. If you don’t know, Carry On is an amazing gay love story and the characters ARE EVERYTHING.

  • Insurgent by Veronica Roth – finally getting around to reading all of the YA I’ve ignored for a few years. I read Divergent a couple of months ago and I thought it was surprisingly good, so I’m hoping this sequel will deliver as well.

  • Witch Week by Diana Wynne Jones – I read Charmed Life YEARS ago, and absolutely loved it as a kid – one of my favourite books. I recently realized I have a whole DWJ section on my shelf, some of which I haven’t read yet, so I’m excited to read another Chrestomanci book.

  • Where the World Ends by Geraldine McCaughrean – this is a children’s book (I think) but it looks really good so I’m going to read it anyways! It’s set in the 18th century and follows the story of a group of men and boys stranded on a sea stac in Scotland, and how they go about surviving. I’m getting into historical fiction more and more, and I also love learning about my country, so I’m eager to read this one!

And that’s my TBR for the current month! I hope you’ve enjoyed, thank you so much for reading. Have an amazing day!
